Information You Send Directly
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into a search form are sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Jefferson Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those searches on its own servers. A message sent to us contains the information you choose to include, and we use it to answer the message.
Automatic Technical Information
Our host may create routine logs such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of access. We review aggregate information to maintain the service and understand page use. Basic analytics and, when used, advertising measurement may use cookies or comparable technologies.
How Limited Data Is Used
We use the information described here to run the service, diagnose technical issues, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Links and Search Services
Jefferson Residents Directory links to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search services. Their own privacy notices govern information submitted on those services. The same is true for sponsored results supplied by a third party.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers may process technical logs for us. Analytics or advertising partners can receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information only when required by valid legal process or otherwise permitted by law.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection. Technical logs are retained only for as long as the operational purposes in this policy require. Because there are no user accounts, this service does not maintain user passwords or account profiles.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent us personal information, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Information Choices
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data a service keeps about you. Because we retain very little, a request generally involves checking our contact mailbox and relevant server logs, then removing information found where appropriate. Use the Contact page to make a request. Public records held by Jefferson Township, Morris County, New Jersey, or another public custodian are outside our control. Requests for those records belong with the custodian under its applicable procedure, including the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, P.L. 2001, c. 404, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.
Changes to This Policy
We may revise this policy by posting the revised text here. Continuing to use the service after a revision takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
